Macy’s, From Every Angle

One company. A career’s worth of reinvention.

I joined Macy’s as a design intern in 2011 and earned a full-time role two months later. Since then, I’ve moved through fashion, special projects, brand marketing, cause marketing, new media, branded entertainment, and Macy’s Studios—growing from designer and art director into a creative director trusted with some of the company’s most visible brands and experiences.

Along the way, I helped shape the naming, branding, and design of Macy’s Backstage; worked as an incubator and lead designer for prototype-store launches including STORY and Market by Macy’s; led creative for the company’s multicultural and cause-marketing campaigns; and explored emerging possibilities through AR and VR.

As a co-leader of Macy’s LGBTQ+ employee resource group, I helped originate and secure the company’s partnership with The Trevor Project. Years of customer-donation campaigns have since raised more than $6 million—proof that a meaningful idea, advocated for by the right people, can create lasting change inside a major organization.

Most recently, I conceived the transformation of Macy’s Branded Entertainment into Macy’s Studios—shaping its name, positioning, identity, internal story, and structure. Today, I lead two multidisciplinary art director-designers who also write. I’ve also mentored three interns across three summers; all three were hired.

Across every chapter, Macy’s has turned to me for the same reason: I know how to guide change while protecting the truth of the brand.

A Few of The Hats I’ve Worn:

  • Brand Creation — Macy’s Studios, Macy’s Backstage, and signature-event identities

  • Creative Leadership — Integrated campaigns, multidisciplinary teams, agencies, and partners

  • New Formats — Prototype stores, STORY, Market by Macy’s, and AR/VR exploration

  • Purpose and Culture — The Trevor Project, multicultural campaigns, Pride + Joy, and cause marketing

  • Talent Building — Team leadership, intern outreach, mentorship, and three successful hires

  • Live Experience — Parade announcer, clown program, events, and activations
